State Duma Defense Committee member Andrei Kolesnik said Russia is not preparing a new round of mobilization.

He urged people not to trust rumors circulating on the issue and called for a tougher response to those spreading them. At the same time, Kolesnik opposed the idea of pushing people out of the country simply because they believed such reports.

According to the lawmaker, the focus should be on explaining the situation rather than condemning those who may have been misled. He argued that Russia needs its citizens, including young people, and that countering hostile messaging should be more forceful than the propaganda itself.

Kolesnik also said that decisions by some Russians to leave the country may be influenced by information pressure. In his view, such publications can be produced by intelligence services engaged in psychological operations aimed at spreading panic and turning people against one another.

Earlier, State Duma deputy Viktor Sobolev said Russians who believe rumors about mobilization are free to leave the country. He also stated that a new mobilization is not expected because military enlistment offices are currently meeting the Armed Forces’ personnel requirements.
