Ukraine lost 1,199 tanks and other armored combat vehicles over the summer of 2026, according to TASS calculations based on daily reports from the Russian Defense Ministry.

As of June 1, the ministry put Ukraine’s total losses in tanks and other armored vehicles since the start of hostilities at 29,568 units. By August 31, that figure had risen to 30,767, meaning 1,199 vehicles were lost over the three summer months.

The figures for destroyed Ukrainian drones were also substantial. From January through the end of August, Russian air defense systems destroyed at least 115,259 Ukrainian-made unmanned aerial vehicles.

August recorded the highest monthly total, with 29,850 drones shot down. Another 21,537 UAVs were destroyed in July, followed by 17,711 in June and 14,195 in May. The monthly tally stood at 11,211 in March, 9,372 in April, 5,989 in February and 5,394 in January.

Military expert and National Defense magazine editor-in-chief Igor Korotchenko also provided figures for Ukrainian personnel losses. Speaking to RIA Novosti, he said the Ukrainian Armed Forces had lost 282,585 servicemen since the beginning of 2026.

Korotchenko said the figure includes both irrecoverable losses and wounded personnel. According to his data, losses were particularly high in June and July, reaching 41,397 and 44,255 servicemen respectively.
