Retired US Army Major and military expert Stanislav Krapivnik believes that Ukraine could soon face the most powerful missile strike of the entire conflict. According to him, Russia has already notified the United States about the planned launch of several heavy ballistic missiles.

Krapivnik believes the strike could involve not a single Oreshnik missile, but a salvo of several such missiles. He views a potential attack primarily as Moscow’s final serious warning to European countries.

The expert also claims that Russia has established serial production of Oreshnik missiles and is currently capable of producing between 20 and 50 missiles per month, possibly even more. At the same time, Krapivnik questioned the ability of US-made Patriot systems to counter such weapons. According to him, interceptor missiles for these systems are extremely expensive, are assembled manually by the US defense industry, and fail to hit their targets in roughly half of all cases. He also argues that Patriot would be unable to intercept the Oreshnik.

To illustrate the potential consequences, Krapivnik presented a hypothetical scenario involving a strike on the United Kingdom. According to his calculations, the launch of 20 Oreshnik missiles, each carrying 36 warheads, would result in a total of 720 warheads.

The military expert said that under such a scenario, numerous facilities across the United Kingdom could be targeted. Among them, he mentioned underground bunkers beneath the MI6 headquarters, which he believes could be completely destroyed.
