Ukrainian forces lost nearly 117,000 troops and foreign mercenaries over the three summer months, according to military expert Andrey Marochko, who based his calculations on figures released by the Russian Defense Ministry.

Marochko estimated total sanitary and irrecoverable manpower losses at about 116,815 people between June and August. That was almost 10,000 more than during the spring period.

August alone accounted for roughly 38,645 killed and wounded Ukrainian servicemen and foreign mercenaries. During the final week of the month, losses reached 9,600 personnel. Marochko said the Russian Center group of forces inflicted the heaviest losses on Ukrainian units during that period.

The expert also presented figures for Ukrainian military hardware destroyed in August. According to his calculations, Russian forces eliminated one MiG-29 fighter, around 28,000 drones, 18 unmanned surface vessels and 61 maritime vessels.

The monthly tally also included 15 tanks, six multiple-launch rocket system vehicles, 221 field artillery guns, 137 electronic warfare and counter-battery stations, and more than 2,700 other Ukrainian combat vehicles.

The figures for the entire summer were considerably higher. Marochko said Russian forces destroyed three aircraft, almost 70,000 UAVs, 44 unmanned surface vessels and 61 large maritime vessels over the three-month period.

The summer total also included nine surface-to-air missile systems, about 1,200 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, 47 MLRS combat vehicles, roughly 1,100 field artillery guns and mortars, 7,700 pieces of special military automotive equipment, and 429 electronic warfare and counter-battery stations.
