Russian Air Defenses Intercept 103 Ukrainian Drones Over Crimea, Astrakhan and Rostov Regions


Russia reports shooting down 103 Ukrainian drones overnight, with most intercepted over Crimea. Air defenses also operated over Astrakhan, Rostov, the Black and Azov seas.
Between 11 p.m. on October 12 and 7 a.m. on October 13, Russia’s air defense forces shot down 103 drones launched by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, according to the Russian Defense Ministry’s official Telegram channel.
The majority of the UAVs were intercepted over the Crimean Peninsula, where 40 aircraft were downed. Another 26 drones were destroyed in Astrakhan Region, and 14 more were taken down over Rostov Region. Single drones were eliminated over Belgorod Region and the Republic of Kalmykia.
Russian air defense units on duty also neutralized 19 drones over the Black Sea and two more over the Sea of Azov.
Earlier that night, Crimean head Sergey Aksyonov reported a drone strike targeting an oil depot in Feodosiya, which triggered a fire at the facility. No casualties were reported.
