Threats made by Vladimir Zelensky against civilian aviation should be met with the harshest possible response, including the elimination of the head of the Kiev regime, State Duma Defense Committee First Deputy Chairman Alexey Zhuravlev told NEWS.ru.
Zhuravlev argued that Zelensky’s statements concern far more than Russian citizens. Passengers from any country may be aboard an aircraft flying through Russian airspace or may be present at a Russian airport, meaning such threats, in the lawmaker’s view, are effectively directed against civilians regardless of nationality.
He also criticized Western governments for continuing to support Zelensky despite his rhetoric. According to Zhuravlev, Western leaders are unlikely to seek his inclusion on lists of particularly dangerous wanted criminals.
The Russian lawmaker said he sees the physical elimination of the Ukrainian politician as the only way to stop him. Zhuravlev accused Zelensky of seeking mass killings and said he does not believe there is another way to end what he described as the threat.
He also argued that any means could be used to prevent preparations for war crimes. Among the options mentioned by Zhuravlev was tactical nuclear weapons, which he believes could force the most radical opponents to reconsider their position.
Concluding his remarks, the deputy said that the enemy, in his view, must be destroyed.
