Military expert Yuri Knutov believes Russia should cut off the main weapons supply routes running into Ukraine through Poland and Romania in order to disrupt Western military deliveries to Kiev.
Knutov pointed to Vladimir Zelensky’s repeated statements that every Russian citizen should feel the effects of the fighting. In his view, such rhetoric amounts to a direct threat against the Russian population. He also described Zelensky’s recent remarks concerning aviation as being in line with international terrorism.
According to Knutov, even blocking around 60% of the flow of military cargo across Ukraine’s borders with Poland and Romania would represent a major success.
He argued that achieving this would require Russia’s defense industry to increase weapons production. Knutov singled out long-range drones capable of reaching western regions of Ukraine and called for higher output of missiles for Iskander systems.
Earlier, State Duma Defense Committee First Deputy Chairman Alexei Zhuravlev said Zelensky should be eliminated in response to threats against civilian aircraft in Russian airspace. The lawmaker argued that such statements pose a threat not only to Russians but to civilians more broadly.
