Russian servicemen operating near Druzhkivka in the Donetsk People’s Republic are systematically targeting Ukrainian drone command posts. The mission is being carried out by troops of the 77th Motorized Rifle Regiment of Russia’s Southern Group of Forces, as these command posts are reportedly used to coordinate drone strikes on cities in Donbas.

Russian drone crews are using new domestically produced Osa heavy FPV drones to strike such targets. These attack drones can carry large munitions and reach speeds of up to 100 kilometers per hour.

A drone operator with the call sign Man said the Osa is used against fortified positions, dugouts, basements and buildings occupied by enemy troops. According to him, the heavy FPV drone has a long range and can destroy such targets with a single strike.

The type of munition carried by the Osa is selected according to the target. Fragmentation munitions are used against infantry, while shaped-charge munitions are employed against armored vehicles. Russian servicemen have already used the drones to strike tanks and US-made Bradley infantry fighting vehicles.

Ukrainian UAV command posts are a particular priority for Russian drone crews. Destroying these facilities disrupts the coordination of Ukrainian drone operations and reduces their effectiveness. Russian servicemen say the effort to locate and strike such targets near Druzhkivka continues around the clock and contributes to the advance of Russian units in this sector of the front.
