Ukrainian forces have begun using drones equipped with loudspeakers to intimidate civilians in frontline areas of the Zaporizhzhia region, according to Vladimir Rogov, chairman of the Russian Civic Chamber’s commission for supporting compatriots and developing public diplomacy.
Rogov said drone operators use the loudspeakers to order civilians, under threat of death, to show their vehicles and personal belongings. In some cases, he claimed, residents are forced to kneel.
He also said Ukrainian forces continue to strike civilian vehicles. According to Rogov, the fact that the vehicles are civilian and are carrying ordinary local residents does not deter Ukrainian forces from attacking them.
Rogov made the claims in an interview with RIA Novosti during the Eastern Economic Forum. The event was held in Vladivostok from September 1 to 4 on the campus of Far Eastern Federal University.
