Russia’s Defense Ministry said air defense forces shot down 258 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones over Russian regions during the night of September 6.

According to the ministry, the interceptions took place between 8:00 p.m. Moscow time on September 5 and 8:00 a.m. on September 6.

The drones were destroyed over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Volgograd, Voronezh, Kaluga, Kursk, Lipetsk, Oryol, Rostov, Ryazan, Saratov, Tambov and Tula regions. Additional UAVs were intercepted over the Krasnodar Territory and Crimea, as well as over the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea.

Missile alerts were declared overnight in the Bryansk, Tula, Kaluga and Oryol regions. Around 30 Ukrainian drones were also downed over the Rostov region.

Rostov region Governor Yury Slyusar said a child was injured in the attack and taken to hospital. Two apartment buildings were damaged in Rostov’s Sovetsky district, prompting the evacuation of residents.

Four private homes were also damaged in the Azov district. Emergency services are working at the affected sites.
