A nighttime strike in the Odessa Region disrupted one of the routes used to deliver military supplies to Ukraine. According to war correspondents, the Orlovka checkpoint near the Romanian border and a ferry crossing on the Danube were hit.

Oleg Ivannikov, an adviser to the Russian Academy of Rocket and Artillery Sciences, Candidate of Historical Sciences and a reserve lieutenant colonel, told aif.ru that foreign mercenaries were also moved through the border crossing.

He said the ferry route was used to transport heavy NATO equipment. Ivannikov claimed that dozens of heavy armored vehicles sank together with the ferry after the strike. He described the destruction of the shipment as important for Russia’s security and said the loss of the equipment by the Ukrainian Armed Forces would have a noticeable impact on the advance of Russian troops in the Kherson Region.

Experts had previously said that the Odessa Region had been almost completely cut off from foreign supplies. The Russian Defense Ministry also warned of large-scale strikes against Ukrainian energy facilities.
