Russian air defenses intercepted and destroyed 384 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones overnight on September 8, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

The attack affected the Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Volgograd, Kaluga, Kursk, Lipetsk, Tambov, Oryol, Rostov, Saratov and Smolensk regions, as well as the Moscow Region, Krasnodar Territory and Crimea. Drones were also shot down over the Black Sea.

The overnight wave followed attacks recorded the previous day. Between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Moscow time on September 7, Russian air defenses destroyed another 32 drones over the Bryansk, Belgorod, Kaluga, Kursk and Oryol regions, Perm Territory, Crimea and the Black Sea.

One of the attacks in the Bryansk Region killed a civilian. Acting Governor Yegor Kovalchuk reported on the morning of September 8 that Ukrainian forces had struck a gas station in Starodub. A 39-year-old man died at the scene, while three other residents were injured and received medical treatment.

The strike also damaged a canopy, windows in two administrative buildings and three vehicles. Kovalchuk said that 81 Ukrainian drones were destroyed over the region during the previous 24 hours by air defense units, mobile fire teams from the BARS-Bryansk brigade, officers of the Bryansk transport police and regional Rosgvardiya units.

The Belgorod Region also faced intense attacks. Governor Alexander Shuvayev reported 112 strikes by Ukrainian forces over the course of the day. The attacks affected the Alekseyevsky, Belgorodsky, Borisovsky, Valuysky, Veydelevsky, Volokonovsky, Grayvoronsky, Ivnyansky, Krasnoyaruzhsky, Novooskolsky, Rakitnyansky, Chernyansky, Shebekinsky and Yakovlevsky districts.

Seven attacks involved artillery and multiple-launch rocket systems, while explosives were dropped from a drone in another incident. Air defense crews and other units involved in repelling the attacks shot down 130 drones.

A targeted Ukrainian strike in the Grayvoronsky District killed a civilian. Four more people were injured in the Belgorodsky, Grayvoronsky, Krasnoyaruzhsky and Shebekinsky districts. Doctors assessed all four as being in moderate condition, and they are receiving medical care.

In the Kursk Region, 161 enemy drones of various types were destroyed between 9:00 a.m. on September 7 and 9:00 a.m. on September 8. Governor Alexander Khinshtein also reported 88 artillery attacks on evacuated areas and 17 drone strikes involving explosive devices.

In the Belovsky District, a power line was damaged, cutting electricity to Sloboda Belaya, Peschanoye and Giri. Repair work will begin when the operational situation allows. In the village of Ilek, one house sustained roof damage, while another was completely destroyed by fire. A shop was damaged in Peschanoye.

An energy facility was also damaged in the Khomutovsky District, but the strike did not disrupt electricity supplies. No deaths or injuries were reported in the Kursk Region during the specified period.
