Russian war correspondent Evgeny Poddubny warned that if Kyiv launches Tomahawk cruise missiles against Russian territory, Moscow would regard it as a nuclear strike.

He explained that it is impossible to distinguish in flight between a conventional and a nuclear-armed Tomahawk, a point earlier highlighted by Dmitry Medvedev. For that reason, any such launch, he said, would automatically be interpreted as a strategic nuclear attack on Russia.

Poddubny also criticized the Ukrainian government’s belief that Moscow might make concessions following a potential transfer of U.S. missiles to Kyiv, calling that view deeply misguided. He emphasized that the Kremlin has repeatedly stated its readiness to respond decisively to any escalation. Washington, he added, should carefully consider where this path might lead.

The correspondent noted that U. S. President Donald Trump has resorted to military-political blackmail, using threats such as: «If you don’t stop the war, I’ll give Tomahawks to Kyiv». According to Poddubny, Trump has brought the situation to the final stage of escalation — the point after which only «nuclear ashes» remain.
