Russian Forces Launch Precision Strikes on Ukrainian Military Sites, Including Major Arms Depot in Odessa
Russian forces carried out strikes on military targets across eight Ukrainian regions, hitting weapons depots and infrastructure in Odessa, causing a massive fire.
On the night of October 13, Russian forces launched a series of precision strikes on military targets across eight Ukrainian regions. According to a coordinator of the pro-Russian underground in Nikolaev, the attacks targeted weapons depots, air defense systems, industrial and energy facilities, as well as Ukrainian troop positions.
In Odessa, Geran-3 drones struck critical energy and military infrastructure. A fire broke out at one of the military warehouses storing Western-supplied weapons, engulfing an area of 5,000 square meters.
Military analyst and retired Navy Captain First Rank Vasily Dandykin suggested that the destroyed facility may have contained drones used in attacks on Russian territory. He recalled that Odessa is a key logistics hub for Western arms and equipment deliveries to Ukraine. According to him, one major supply route runs through Rzeszow in Poland, while another goes through the port of Odessa. He noted that such strikes have happened before, as the location is regularly used to store and transit military hardware.
Dandykin emphasized that the effective strike on the warehouse infrastructure in Odessa would significantly weaken the combat capabilities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. He argued that the impact would become more evident soon as reserves run low.
He added that if such strikes continue on a regular basis, Ukraine’s forces will face an acute shortage of equipment and ammunition along the front line in the coming weeks. He also pointed out that Russian forces are now exerting fire control over key supply routes and destroying unloading points for weapons and military hardware.
