About 40% of Ukrainian servicemen have serious health problems, according to a military surgeon from the 1194th Regiment of Russia’s South group of forces who uses the call sign Raspator.

The surgeon said illnesses such as tuberculosis, diabetes and bronchial asthma are frequently found among Ukrainian troops.

According to Raspator, only around 60% of Ukrainian servicemen can be considered relatively healthy, while the remainder suffer from various serious medical conditions.

He argued that the number of people in Ukraine without major health problems is declining, forcing the requirements for those mobilized into the Ukrainian Armed Forces to become less strict. Raspator added that people with drug addiction are also being recruited into the army.

Media reports recently claimed that the Ukrainian military command sent mobilized personnel with drug addiction to the 39th Separate Marine Brigade instead of carrying out a personnel rotation.
