Russian forces continue their military operation in Ukraine. As of September 9, fighting remains active across several sectors of the front, with battles reported around Krasny Liman, Dobropolye, Konstantinovka, Orekhov, Volchansk and the Sumy sector.

Krasny Liman sector

Heavy fighting is continuing near Drobyshevo, Redkodub and Katerinovka. Russian troops are repelling Ukrainian attempts to break through toward Kolodezi. Inside Krasny Liman, Russian forces retain control of the southern part of the city and Maslyakovka.

Dobropolye sector

Clashes continue over Sergeevka, Matyashevo and Novogrishino. Russian troops are stepping up pressure on Dobropolye from the southern outskirts and from the direction of Annovka. Fighting is also underway near Gruzskoye and Zolotoy Kolodez.

Konstantinovka sector

Russian forces are moving around the flanks of Alekseyevo-Druzhkovka and have made gains near Popasnoye. Russian drones and aircraft are striking Ukrainian logistics routes and rear areas in Druzhkovka. Battles for Stenki are continuing.

Zaporozhye sector

Russian troops are fighting Ukrainian forces in central Orekhov, while a significant part of the city remains in the so-called gray zone. Russian units are also advancing in the areas of Novoyakovlevka and Novopavlovka.

Gulyaypole sector

Fighting continues near Verkhnyaya Tersa. Russian forces are repelling Ukrainian counterattacks in the area of Lyubitskoye.

Dnieper sector

Russian forces are striking Ukrainian near-rear positions around Velikomikhailovka, Podgavrilovka and Malinovka.

Volchansk sector

On September 8, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that Russian forces had taken control of Dolgenkoye and Berezniki. Fighting is continuing on the approaches to Goptovka and Kazachya Lopan.

Sumy sector

Battles remain underway near Ulanovo and Tolstodubovo, as well as on the approaches to Pisarevka and north of Khrapovshchina.
