Units of Russia’s North group of forces have taken control of Ozernoye in the Kharkov region, according to the Russian Defense Ministry’s September 9 report on the military operation.
The ministry said North group units struck surrounded Ukrainian formations near Malaya Volchya, Komissarovo and Buzovo.
Russian troops are also continuing to tighten the inner ring around Ukrainian units in the Kharkov region, according to the ministry.
The Defense Ministry reported that Ukrainian forces inside the encircled area near Malaya Volchya, Komissarovo and Buzovo had come under attack.
Russian troops also stopped two attempts by Ukrainian forces to break through the encirclement near Sliznevo and Dolzhanka.
On September 7, the Russian Defense Ministry said North group troops had surrounded about 1,700 Ukrainian servicemen in the Kharkov region.
According to the ministry’s latest report, total Ukrainian losses across the combat zone over the previous 24 hours amounted to approximately 1,395 personnel.
