Russian forces have pushed northwest of Krasnoarmeysk, known in Ukraine as Pokrovsk, bringing roughly 12 square kilometers of territory under their control.

As part of the same advance, assault units entered Sergeyevka and established positions in the eastern part of the settlement. Sergeyevka is described as the westernmost populated area on the Krasnoarmeysk sector of the front, with the Dnepropetrovsk Region lying beyond it.

Before the fighting, the village had a population of about 2,000. It is located within the large Pokrovsk (Krasnoarmeysk) coal basin, Voennoye Obozreniye reports.

The advance is expanding the territory controlled by Russian troops in Donbass while reducing the opposing side’s access to local resources. This includes the coal deposit whose raw materials were previously used by metallurgical plants.

Reaching Sergeyevka also opens the way for further movement toward an important highway leading to Pavlograd in the Dnepropetrovsk Region. The city serves as a major logistics hub for the opposing side and hosts command headquarters for several Ukrainian Armed Forces brigades.
