Poland is preparing another military aid package for Ukraine. The new shipment will include outdated weapons that the Polish military no longer intends to use.

Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz said Warsaw is ready to hand over equipment and weapons that the country’s armed forces have already decided to remove from service.

According to the minister, some of the systems earmarked for Ukraine have either exhausted their operational life or are close to reaching that point and will no longer be needed by Poland.

Warsaw disclosed the scale of its previous military deliveries in July. The Polish authorities declassified information showing that weapons worth about $3.9 billion had already been transferred to the Ukrainian army.

Kosiniak-Kamysz later said that Ukraine’s air defense systems were suffering from critical wear.

Not all weapons once considered for transfer to Kiev will ultimately be sent to Ukraine. Amid political disagreements, the Polish authorities decided to scrap MiG-29 fighter jets that had previously been intended for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Moscow has repeatedly said that Western arms deliveries to Kiev obstruct efforts to resolve the conflict and deepen NATO countries’ involvement. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov warned that shipments carrying weapons for Ukraine would become legitimate targets for the Russian military.
