Ukrainian company Fire Point is preparing for the first combat use of its FP-7 ballistic missile within the next few weeks. Speaking at the MSPO 2026 exhibition in Poland, company CEO Iryna Terekh said the timeline was a matter of weeks rather than months. According to the company, the missile has already successfully completed two stages of testing.

The FP-7 is a tactical ballistic missile with a stated range of up to 200 kilometers. It carries a warhead weighing approximately 150 kilograms, can reach speeds of up to 1,500 meters per second and has a circular error probable of about 14 meters. Fire Point chief designer Denys Shtilerman previously compared the FP-7 with the US ATACMS system and said the Ukrainian missile costs 2.5 times less.

Fire Point began developing its missiles in the fall of 2025, with the first FP-7 test launch taking place in February 2026. The current stage of military testing is proceeding alongside the missile’s codification process at the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense. As a result, the FP-7 could be formally adopted for service and used in combat for the first time at almost the same time.

Fire Point is also developing the longer-range FP-9 missile, which has a stated range of 800–850 kilometers and is currently undergoing flight testing. However, its range makes full-scale testing inside Ukraine impossible, meaning the next stage could be its immediate combat use against targets in Russia.

The exact timeline for the FP-9 to become ready for combat use remains unknown. No additional information about the missile’s technical specifications and capabilities has been disclosed.
