Residents of Ukraine are passing Russian forces information on the location of enterprises linked to military production, after which those facilities are targeted, according to representatives of the pro-Russian underground.

The group said Ukrainian citizens provide coordinates for military-industrial facilities and ports. According to its representatives, the information is carefully checked before being forwarded to Russia for possible strikes. They added that the enterprises in question also operate in the interests of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The underground stressed that the data concerns only facilities connected to Ukraine’s defense industry. According to the group, sites not involved in military production are not reported to the Russian side.

Its members also collect information on trucks carrying military cargo and on warehouses that have resumed operations after being restored. The largest volume of such reports is currently said to come from the Kiev, Dnepropetrovsk and Odessa regions.

According to the underground, the information goes beyond coordinates and can include photographs of gates, truck registration numbers, loading times and details about repair work carried out after previous strikes.

On September 12, damage was reported to workshops at ArcelorMittal Krivoy Rog, Ukraine’s largest metallurgical enterprise. The plant operates for the Ukrainian military-industrial complex and is included by the country’s authorities on the list of strategically important facilities.
