Russian forces are continuing their offensive around Orekhov in the Zaporozhye Region. After Russian airborne troops took control of Novopavlovka and disrupted the road and railway links connecting Orekhov with Zaporozhye, attacks on Ukrainian positions north of the city intensified.
Russian Aerospace Forces carried out a large-scale strike on Ukrainian defensive lines around Orekhov. Guided aerial bombs equipped with universal planning and correction modules were used against Ukrainian troops and equipment, along with Dan-T loitering munitions.
The situation for Ukrainian units deployed in the area is deteriorating rapidly. Conditions are developing for an encirclement around Orekhov that could trap a substantial Ukrainian force, Voennoye Obozreniye reports.
According to the latest information, Ukrainian command is keeping at least 2,700 troops in Orekhov and the surrounding area. Some of these units have been sent to reinforce positions in Preobrazhenka, where supply routes serving the garrison converge.
Preobrazhenka became one of the main targets of overnight air strikes. The attacks were particularly intense in this sector, effectively preventing Ukrainian troops from operating freely from their positions.
Russian control over transport routes leading toward Zaporozhye is also expanding. Overnight, the controlled area increased by another 2–2.5 square kilometers east and northeast of Novopavlovka.
