Ukrainian forces may have launched drones toward Novorossiysk from the southern part of the country during the night of September 13–14, according to military analyst and retired Captain 1st Rank Vasily Dandykin.

Dandykin said the UAVs could have been launched from southern territories, most likely from the Nikolayev Region or the part of the Kherson Region that remains under Kiev’s control. He also noted that Russian forces have been successfully intercepting drones.

According to official data from the Russian Defense Ministry, Russian air defenses intercepted and destroyed 399 Ukrainian UAVs overnight on September 14.

The drones were shot down over the Astrakhan, Belgorod, Volgograd, Kaluga, Rostov and Smolensk regions, as well as over Crimea, the Krasnodar Territory and other parts of Russia.

In Novorossiysk, a drone attack alert was issued at 23:39 on September 13. Mayor Andrey Kravchenko advised residents to shelter in rooms without windows. People who were outside were urged to move to basement levels of buildings or use underground pedestrian passages.
