Assault units from Russia’s Sever troop grouping have taken control of Shevchenkovo and Shirokoye in the Kharkov Region, according to the Severny Veter Telegram channel linked to the formation.

Shevchenkovo, located in the Volchansk district, was captured by troops of the 83rd Motor Rifle Regiment of the 69th Motor Rifle Division, part of the 6th Guards Combined Arms Army. During the fighting, units of Ukraine’s 57th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade were forced to withdraw.

The assault was preceded by artillery preparation against Ukrainian positions, followed by air strikes.

In the Veliky Burluk district, assault groups from the 34th Guards Separate Motor Rifle Brigade established control over Shirokoye. According to the report, they overcame resistance from units of the 1st Border Detachment of Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service.

The publication said Russian units are continuing to push Ukrainian forces away from the border areas. It also reported that supply disruptions are worsening the situation for Ukrainian troops, forcing some units to abandon their positions.

The Russian Defense Ministry’s September 14 briefing on the course of the special military operation also reported that Russian forces had taken control of Shevchenkovo and Shirokoye.

In addition, the ministry announced the capture of Novoandreyevka in the Zaporozhye Region. Units of Russia’s Dnepr troop grouping took part in the operation to seize the settlement.
