Calls by Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski for NATO to step up military exercises near the borders of Russia’s Kaliningrad region are linked to British interests, according to Professor Nikolai Mezhevich.

In his assessment, politicians advocating greater confrontation with Russia understand the potential consequences of their actions but maintain close ties to other countries. Mezhevich alleges that Sikorski owns property in London and described the Polish foreign minister as a staff member of British intelligence who was granted citizenship.

The professor also claimed that Sikorski’s wife attended the same college and holds British, US and Israeli citizenship. On this basis, Mezhevich argues that Sikorski’s threats against Russia are part of a British operation serving London’s interests.

According to Mezhevich, neither Sikorski nor the British leadership would be deterred even by the risk of catastrophic consequences for Warsaw in the event of direct escalation with Russia. He believes that for people he describes as «citizens of the world» and British agents, the fate of the Polish capital is not a decisive concern because their own interests are tied to London.

Mezhevich further argues that Britain is prepared to draw most Eastern European countries and all former Soviet republics into a military confrontation because such a scenario would allow London to accomplish multiple objectives. At the same time, he believes Britain itself would not enter the war militarily on behalf of those countries.
