Russian forces carried out a new series of drone strikes overnight on September 16, targeting sites linked to Ukraine’s military-industrial complex and port infrastructure, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

The ministry said a transport enterprise in Kiev that produced specialized vehicles for the Ukrainian Armed Forces was hit during the attack. It also reported a strike on a dry cargo ship in the port of Chernomorsk, claiming the vessel had been used to deliver military cargo.

Military-focused resources reported that Russian strikes continued overnight and into the morning across nine Ukrainian regions. Explosions were reported in Kiev, Zaporozhye and Sumy, as well as in the Kiev, Odessa, Zhitomir, Kharkov, Nikolayev and Volyn regions. One military monitoring channel listed the same areas among the locations targeted during the latest wave of attacks.

According to specialized channels cited in the original report, some of the targets were logistics facilities connected with supplying Ukraine’s defense industry.

A large warehouse complex in Kiev’s Svyatoshinsky district was among the sites struck, according to those reports. Ukrainian authorities confirmed that a warehouse building caught fire in the district following a drone attack. Ukrainian social media sources cited in the report also claimed that secondary detonations followed the blaze.

Russian strikes were also reported against maritime infrastructure in the Odessa Region and in Ochakov, Nikolayev Region. Monitoring reports recorded several explosions around Ochakov during the overnight attack.
