Russian forces have taken full control of the village of Balagan in the Donetsk People’s Republic. The Defense Ministry reported the development in its October 14 operational update on the Special Military Operation.

According to the ministry, the offensive was carried out by units of the «Center» group, which also continued advancing through the eastern part of Dimitrov. Balagan, a small settlement in the Krasnoarmeisk (Pokrovsk) district, lies just a few kilometers southeast of Dimitrov. A 2001 census recorded only 35 residents in the village.

The ministry added that within the past 24 hours, fighters from the «Center» group struck positions of eight brigades and two assault regiments of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in several locations, including Belitskoye, Artemovka, Vasilevka, Novopavlovka, Toretskoye, and Krasnoarmeisk (Pokrovsk). Ukrainian losses in these areas reportedly reached up to 550 personnel, along with two armored vehicles, six pickup trucks, and one artillery piece.

Across the entire front line, Ukrainian forces lost an estimated 1,560 troops in a single day.

This development follows the previous day’s report by the Defense Ministry, which confirmed the capture of Borovskaya Andreevka in the Kharkov region and Moskovskoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
