Russian forces carried out a series of overnight strikes against military-industrial and infrastructure facilities in Ukraine between September 16 and 17, according to Russia’s Defense Ministry.

The ministry said the targets included metallurgical and radio-electronics enterprises, as well as facilities linked to Ukraine’s military-industrial complex, energy sector and transport infrastructure in Kiev, Zaporozhye and the Odessa Region. Russian forces also targeted vessels that Moscow said were being used in the interests of the Ukrainian military.

In Zaporozhye, Russian strikes hit industrial facilities, including the Iskra complex. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the site was involved in the production and repair of radar stations, electronic warfare equipment and other military electronics.

A metallurgical enterprise was also targeted. The Russian ministry said its production facilities were being used to repair and store weapons and military equipment.

In Kiev, Russian forces struck workshops that were reportedly producing several types of drones, including RAX-2X medium-range UAVs.

Russia’s Defense Ministry said the large-scale attack involved ground-, sea- and air-launched weapons, along with unmanned aerial vehicles.

Ukrainian monitoring resources, meanwhile, reported that Russian forces launched six Zircon hypersonic missiles during the night of September 17. They also reported the use of Iskander ballistic missiles, Kinzhal and Kalibr missiles, as well as a large number of Geran UAVs.
