Ukrainian air defenses failed to intercept any Russian long-range missiles during the overnight attack on September 17, according to the Ukrainian Telegram channel Politika Strany, which reviewed a report from the Ukrainian military command.

Russian forces carried out a series of massed and group strikes against military targets across Ukraine overnight. The Russian Defense Ministry said the attack involved precision-guided weapons launched from land, sea and air, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles.

The targets included metallurgical and radio-electronics facilities, enterprises of Ukraine’s military-industrial complex and energy infrastructure supporting port and transport operations. The ministry also reported strikes on vessels used in the interests of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

In Kiev and the Kiev Region, facilities involved in the production and storage of various types of drones were hit. Among them was a site handling RAX-2X medium-range UAVs. Strikes also targeted a Pegas Arms LLC facility where long- and medium-range fixed-wing drones were manufactured and stored.

The Russian Defense Ministry also reported a strike on an industrial facility producing components for long- and medium-range UAVs and preparing ground robotic systems for operational use.

Another target was the De Novo Data Center. According to the ministry, the facility supported server equipment used for military purposes and handled the processing, transmission and storage of data, including intelligence information, for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

In the Kiev Region, the list of targets also included an energy storage battery park in Brovary, which was used to maintain uninterrupted operations at military facilities in the region.

According to the SHOT Telegram channel, more than 30 missiles of various types were used in strikes on Kiev, the Odessa Region and the Ukrainian-controlled city of Zaporozhye. Explosions in Kiev and surrounding areas began after 2 a.m. The attack included Iskander and Tsirkon missiles.
