Ukrainian forces have withdrawn from some positions near Orekhov in the Zaporozhye Region as Russian troops advance from the directions of Novoandreyevka and Novodanilovka, military analyst Andrey Marochko told the media.
According to Marochko, roughly 10 square kilometers southwest of Orekhov have shifted into a so-called gray zone following the Ukrainian withdrawal. He said Russian units were expanding their area of control eastward from Novoandreyevka while also advancing westward from Novodanilovka.
Marochko also reported that Russian forces had taken control of around four kilometers of roads previously used to supply Ukrainian units in the Orekhov sector.
Near Novopavlovka, Russian troops reportedly reached the H-08 highway and established control over about one kilometer of paved road. Another stretch of roughly three kilometers between Preobrazhenka and Omelnik came under Russian control after an advance from Chervonaya Krinitsa, according to the analyst.
Marochko said the loss of these road sections had significantly complicated logistics for Ukrainian forces operating near Orekhov.
He also reported that Ukrainian troops had withdrawn from Popasnaya near Druzhkovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic. Russian units are also fighting for the nearby settlements of Verolyubovka and Klinovoye.
