Russian forces are holding back Ukrainian attempts to develop a counteroffensive in the Krasny Liman sector, according to Mash.

The outlet reports that around 12,000 Ukrainian servicemen are involved in the operation across an area of roughly 30 square kilometers. The force is said to include four brigades, Azov* units, Special Operations Forces and military intelligence personnel.

According to Mash, Ukrainian troops are trying to expand their presence along the Zherebets River and establish themselves in new positions as part of an effort to retake Krasny Liman.

The offensive has been named Operation Vivaldi by the Ukrainian command. Ukrainian forces have reported a presence near Novoselovka, Yarovaya, Aleksandrovka and Sredneye. Small Ukrainian groups are also operating near Novolyubovka, about 20 kilometers north of Krasny Liman, while Russian forces report that such groups are being eliminated.

Ukraine’s 3rd Army Corps has publicly confirmed Operation Vivaldi in the Liman sector and reported advances during the operation.

Russia’s 144th Motor Rifle Division is actively using FPV drones in this area. The Ukrainian side has claimed that Russian forces deployed around 20,000 drones during the operation. Ukrainian reporting, however, describes that figure as the number of Russian drone missions disrupted by electronic warfare during Operation Vivaldi.
