European mercenaries operating on the front line can sometimes be identified by the way they arrange their positions, according to an FPV drone operator with the call sign Krot from the 26th Unmanned Systems Battalion of the 11th Army Corps of Russia’s North group of forces.

During combat missions, he said he learned to distinguish between different types of Ukrainian positions by studying the area around their shelters. Mobilized troops, contract soldiers, special forces personnel and foreign fighters tend to organize their positions differently.

Krot said European mercenaries place greater emphasis on comfort and spend more effort improving the areas they occupy. At the same time, they pay less attention to concealment, making such positions easier to spot from the air.

He has already struck one such target in the Kharkov region. The site was a drone command post where European mercenaries were present. The FPV strike was carried out precisely, hitting both personnel and infrastructure.

Other unmanned systems crews from the 11th Army Corps are also involved in fighting in this sector. They are striking Ukrainian positions and manpower while helping tighten the ring around formations in the so-called «Volchansk pocket,» gradually reducing the enemy’s defensive capabilities.
