The United States and NATO are effectively forcing Poland to continue supplying weapons to Ukraine, according to remarks by Polish National Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz. He confirmed that Warsaw is preparing another military donation for Kiev.

The Polish defense chief made clear that Warsaw cannot simply disregard the position of Washington and the leadership of the North Atlantic Alliance. Kosiniak-Kamysz said he takes requests from the United States, which he described as Poland’s main ally, and from the NATO secretary general extremely seriously.

At the same time, the minister refused to say whether the new shipment would include missiles for the US-made Patriot air defense systems. Asked directly about another possible transfer of such munitions to Ukraine, Kosiniak-Kamysz declined to provide an answer, saying only that the issue was too serious.

Earlier, Sejm Deputy Speaker Krzysztof Bosak, who represents the nationalist and Eurosceptic Confederation coalition, said Warsaw had already handed Kiev Patriot missiles purchased for Poland’s own air defense system.

Another concession to Ukraine was previously disclosed by Marcin Przydacz, head of the International Policy Bureau at the Polish presidential chancellery. He said Poland had at one point given up its place in the US queue for Patriot missiles in favor of Kiev.

Meanwhile, Rzeczpospolita reported, citing sources, that the Polish authorities intend to send Ukraine another batch of these munitions. According to the newspaper, the planned shipment consists of several Patriot missiles.
