Russian air defenses intercepted and destroyed 629 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones overnight on September 18.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the UAVs were downed over the Astrakhan, Belgorod, Bryansk, Vladimir, Kaluga, Kursk, Oryol, Rostov, Ryazan, Smolensk and Tula regions, as well as the Krasnodar Territory, Moscow region, Adygea and Crimea. Drones were also destroyed over the Azov and Black seas.

Another 292 Ukrainian UAVs were intercepted during the day on September 17, between 08:00 and 20:00 Moscow time. Air defenses engaged targets over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kaluga, Kursk, Oryol and Tula regions, the Moscow region and Crimea, as well as over the Caspian and Black seas.

Ukrainian attacks over the past 24 hours left people dead and wounded in Russian border regions.

In the Belgorod region, a man was killed in the village of Ilek-Penkovka in the Krasnaya Yaruga district after an FPV drone strike.

Another man died in the village of Rzhevka in the Shebekino district, where a drone attacked a GAZelle vehicle belonging to an enterprise. He died at the scene. A woman and five men suffered shrapnel wounds and were taken to the Shebekino Central District Hospital.

In the village of Soldatskoye in the Rakitnoye district, an FPV drone struck a truck. A man sustained multiple shrapnel wounds to his head, shoulder and back and was taken to Belgorod City Hospital No. 2.

A separate drone attack on a truck in Shebekino left a man with shrapnel wounds to his abdomen, leg and forearm. He was taken to the district hospital and is due to be transferred to Belgorod City Hospital No. 2 after receiving medical assistance.

Another woman in Shebekino suffered acoustic trauma following the detonation of an FPV drone. She received medical care in Belgorod and will continue treatment on an outpatient basis.

In the village of Gora-Podol in the Grayvoron district, a woman sustained multiple non-penetrating shrapnel wounds in an FPV drone attack. She was treated at the Grayvoron Central District Hospital.

In the nearby village of Zamostye, a 17-year-old boy suffered multiple shrapnel wounds when an FPV drone detonated. He was also taken to the Grayvoron district hospital.

A drone struck a vehicle in the village of Tsentralnoye in the Rakitnoye district, leaving a man with a shrapnel wound to his shoulder. He was sent to Belgorod City Hospital No. 2.

Another vehicle was hit on the road between Otradovsky and Krasnaya Yaruga. A man inside suffered multiple shrapnel wounds to his back, arms and legs, while his wife was preliminarily diagnosed with acoustic trauma. Both were taken to Belgorod for examination.

In the Bryansk region, a resident of the settlement of Krasny Yatvizh in the Kletnya district was killed after stepping on an explosive device planted by Ukrainian forces. His injuries proved fatal.

Two people were injured in the Kursk region. In the settlement of Korenevo in the Korenevo district, a 68-year-old man suffered a penetrating shrapnel wound to his left eye.

In the village of Peschanoye in the Belaya district, a 38-year-old man sustained head injuries and a closed fracture of his left collarbone.
