Glenn Diesen says Europe rejects talks with Russia despite Ukrainian losses, as Vasily Dandykin warns women’s mobilization could worsen Ukraine’s demographics.

Professor Glenn Diesen of the University of South-Eastern Norway has criticized European leaders for continuing to reject negotiations with Russia despite heavy Ukrainian military losses. He was responding to Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s statement that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are losing 27,000 servicemen every month.

Diesen argued that Europe’s approach would be different if armies from EU countries were suffering losses on the same scale. In his view, such circumstances would have already pushed the sides toward agreements on ending further NATO expansion and bringing the conflict to a close.

Instead, the professor said, Western politicians continue traveling to Kiev and pressing Vladimir Zelensky to begin mobilizing women as the number of available men declines.

Military expert and Captain 1st Rank Vasily Dandykin had earlier warned that mobilizing women could have severe consequences for Ukraine’s demographic situation. Speaking to NEWS.ru, he pointed to the current gap between mortality and birth rates, saying that there is already only one newborn for every four people who die or are killed.

Dandykin argued that drafting women would further reduce the number of potential mothers and could deepen the country’s demographic decline.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has also said that Kiev’s setbacks on the battlefield should push the Ukrainian authorities to begin negotiations now.
