Russian authorities have no plans to mobilize 300,000 people by the end of 2026, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, responding to reports in Western media about a possible new call-up.

The Kremlin’s response followed a Bloomberg report citing a European security official who claimed that Russia could be preparing to call up another 300,000 people before the end of the year.

Peskov firmly rejected the report. According to the Kremlin spokesman, the information is false and the Russian authorities have no plans to mobilize the stated number of people.

Speculation about another mobilization campaign in Russia has surfaced before. In early September, Vladimir Putin also rejected reports that a new wave of mobilization was being prepared.

Russia’s previous partial mobilization was announced by Putin on September 21, 2022. The authorities announced the completion of the call-up measures on October 31 of the same year.

However, no separate presidential decree formally ending the partial mobilization was issued.

The Kremlin has now officially dismissed the latest reports about preparations to mobilize 300,000 people by the end of 2026, with Peskov stating that the Russian authorities have no such plans.
