The Gerbera-2 drone used by the Russian Armed Forces has received several notable upgrades, including new body materials, a larger wing and a more powerful warhead, according to the Voyennaya Khronika Telegram channel.

The publication pointed to footage recorded by a Ukrainian serviceman who examined a downed Gerbera-2. He described the drone’s appearance as resembling a spacecraft.

The upgraded Russian UAV is noticeably larger than the original version. Each wing is fitted with two elevons controlled by four servos.

According to the author of the video, the drone’s internal compartment is designed to accommodate a large warhead. The Gerbera-2 also carries a fuel tank with a capacity of 63 liters.

In August 2026, photographs appeared online showing Gerbera drones fitted with spectrum analyzers. Such devices can be used to detect enemy radar stations.

The basic versions of the Gerbera drone have been used by the Russian Armed Forces since 2024.
