Russian forces on the left bank of the Dnepr have built a multi-layered system to counter Ukrainian drones. Operators from the 49th Combined Arms Army of the Dnepr group maintain continuous surveillance of the airspace using interceptor drones, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

Some crews track aerial targets with optical devices and thermal imagers before high-speed FPV drones are sent to intercept them. Enemy UAVs are destroyed either by ramming or detonation. According to the ministry, dozens of drones used for reconnaissance and attacks on military facilities have been eliminated this way in recent weeks. The system also protects frontline units and civilians.

The 49th Army is also developing other ways to use unmanned systems. At field laboratories in the Kherson sector, servicemen modified the Molniya UAV into a carrier for an FPV drone. A deputy commander of a drone systems battalion with the call sign Donskoy told RIA Novosti that although the stated range was 30 kilometers, crews managed to use the system at distances of up to 70 kilometers. He said the upgraded drone had proved highly effective.

Near Malokaterinovka, Russian airborne troops destroyed equipment, personnel and UAV launch sites used by Ukrainian forces to send reconnaissance and strike drones into the air.

The released footage shows aerial reconnaissance tracking an enemy pickup truck to its destination. An FPV drone then strikes the vehicle before artillery hits it again. Molniya crews also destroyed a group of enemy troops attempting to take cover from artillery fire. Coordinated action by the units allowed the assault groups to continue their advance.
