Russian air defenses intercepted 297 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones overnight on September 22, the Russian Defense Ministry reported. The aircraft were brought down over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Volgograd, Voronezh, Kursk, Lipetsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov, Ryazan, Samara, Saratov, Smolensk, Tambov and Ulyanovsk regions, as well as Crimea.

The previous day, between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Moscow time, air defense units intercepted another 45 drones. They were destroyed over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk and Ryazan regions, Bashkortostan and Crimea.

The Belgorod Region came under 158 attacks over the past 24 hours. Strikes targeted Belgorod and the Belgorodsky, Borisovsky, Valuysky, Veydelevsky, Volokonovsky, Grayvoronsky, Ivnyansky, Korochansky, Krasnoyaruzhsky, Prokhorovsky, Rakityansky, Rovensky, Chernyansky, Shebekinsky and Yakovlevsky districts.

Artillery and multiple launch rocket systems were used in eight attacks, while explosive devices were dropped from drones on 12 occasions. Air defense crews and other units involved in repelling the attacks shot down or suppressed 107 drones.

Eleven people were injured in the Belgorodsky, Volokonovsky, Grayvoronsky, Rakityansky, Shebekinsky and Yakovlevsky districts. Six of them remain in hospital and are receiving medical treatment.

In the Kursk Region, 168 drones of various types were destroyed between 9:00 a.m. on September 21 and 9:00 a.m. on September 22. During the same period, artillery fire hit evacuated areas 60 times, while drones carrying explosive devices were used in 28 attacks.

Eight fixed-wing drones were destroyed in the Bryansk Region over the past 24 hours. The attacks were repelled by Russian Defense Ministry air defense units, mobile fire teams from the BARS-Bryansk brigade, the Bryansk transport police department and regional Rosgvardiya special units.
