Russian forces used Zircon hypersonic missiles during a large-scale overnight strike on targets across Ukraine, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on September 22.

The combined attack also involved precision-guided weapons launched from ground, sea and air platforms, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles.

According to the ministry, the strikes hit metallurgical and chemical enterprises along with facilities belonging to Ukraine’s fuel and energy sector and military-industrial complex that were operating in support of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Industrial and infrastructure facilities were also struck in Kiev and the Dnepropetrovsk, Poltava and Odessa regions. Port infrastructure in Odessa was hit as well.

The Russian Defense Ministry also reported strikes on vessels that were being used in the interests of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
