Russian air defenses destroyed 514 Ukrainian drones overnight on September 23, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.

The aircraft-type UAVs were intercepted over the Belgorod, Kursk, Bryansk, Voronezh, Oryol, Kaluga, Lipetsk, Tambov, Ryazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Smolensk, Saratov, Samara, Ulyanovsk and Rostov regions, as well as over the Krasnodar Territory, Crimea, Bashkortostan and Tatarstan. Drones were also shot down over the Azov and Black seas.

The attacks had continued throughout the previous day. Between 08:00 and 20:00 Moscow time on September 22, air defense units destroyed another 17 Ukrainian aircraft-type drones over the Kursk and Belgorod regions, Crimea and the Black Sea.

Two people were wounded in the Bryansk Region. In the village of Kryukov in the Starodubsky District, a kamikaze drone struck a moving vehicle. A man suffered shrapnel wounds and was taken to hospital.

Another resident was injured in the village of Churovichi in the Klimovsky District after a drone exploded. He was prescribed outpatient treatment.

A total of 155 aircraft-type UAVs were destroyed over the Bryansk Region during the past 24 hours. Air defense units of the Russian Defense Ministry, mobile fire teams of the BARS-Bryansk brigade, mobile groups of the Bryansk transport police and Rosgvardiya units took part in intercepting them.

Attacks also caused casualties in the Kursk Region. Between 09:00 on September 22 and 09:00 on September 23, 193 drones of various types were shot down there. During the same period, artillery was used 45 times against evacuated areas, while drones carrying explosive devices were used in another 24 attacks.

A man born in 1976 was killed in the village of Budki in the Glushkovsky District. Three more people were wounded in the village of Nizhnemakhovo in the Sudzhansky District, in Rylsk and in the settlement of Belaya in the Belovsky District.

The Belgorod Region came under 150 Ukrainian attacks over the past 24 hours. Strikes were recorded in the Alekseyevsky, Belgorodsky, Borisovsky, Valuysky, Volokonovsky, Grayvoronsky, Gubkinsky, Krasnogvardeysky, Krasnoyaruzhsky, Novooskolsky, Rakityansky, Chernyansky and Shebekinsky districts.

Fourteen attacks involved artillery, aviation and multiple-launch rocket systems. Explosive devices were dropped from drones on another six occasions.

Air defense forces and other units involved in repelling the attacks shot down 145 drones. Eight people were wounded in the Belgorodsky, Borisovsky, Volokonovsky, Krasnoyaruzhsky and Shebekinsky districts. Seven were hospitalized, including two who were reported to be in serious condition.
