Russian Lancet crews and strike drone operators destroyed several artillery systems in the Zaporozhye region, including an M119 howitzer, an M109 Paladin and two Bogdana self-propelled guns, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

One of the first targets was a US-made M119 towed howitzer. Reconnaissance drones spotted the gun while it was moving alongside a truck carrying ammunition. Its coordinates were then passed to strike drone operators and a Lancet loitering munition crew.

The ministry said the strikes triggered an ammunition detonation, destroying both the M119 and the nearby truck.

Aerial reconnaissance later located three more artillery systems: a concealed M109 Paladin and two Bogdana self-propelled guns. The weapons had been positioned at prepared firing sites and hidden in wooded areas. Strike drones then attacked the shelters and the artillery pieces.

Fires broke out at the positions after the hits, followed by ammunition explosions. The Russian Defense Ministry said the destruction of the artillery systems reduced the Ukrainian forces’ ability to provide fire support to their units and conduct counter-battery operations in that sector.

Earlier, Hero of Russia and Major General of Aviation Sergei Lipovoy said Ukrainian forces were facing a serious shortage of missiles, interceptors and drones. According to his assessment, the deficit also extends to other types of weapons, including small arms, artillery systems and armored vehicles.
