Russian Air Defenses Intercept 59 Ukrainian Drones in Massive Overnight Attack
Russia’s Defense Ministry reported that its air defense forces destroyed 59 Ukrainian drones overnight across several regions, including Rostov, Volgograd, Belgorod, and Crimea.
Russia’s Defense Ministry reported that air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 59 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones during the night.
According to the ministry, 17 drones were shot down over the Rostov region, 12 over Volgograd, 11 over Belgorod, and 9 over Voronezh. Four more were neutralized over Crimea, three above the Black Sea, and one each over the Bryansk, Kursk, and Orel regions.
Ukrainian forces continue daily attempts to strike Russian territories using kamikaze-type drones. Russian air defense units are said to detect and destroy the majority of these aerial targets.
In response, Russian troops have been carrying out precision strikes on drone assembly workshops, defense industry facilities, Ukrainian military positions, and depots storing weapons and equipment.
