Russian air defense forces destroyed 40 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones overnight on September 24, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported. The interceptions took place between 8:00 p.m. Moscow time on September 23 and 8:00 a.m. the following morning.

The UAVs were shot down over the Bryansk, Belgorod, Kursk, Tver and Rostov regions, as well as Krasnodar Territory and Crimea.

Drone attacks had also continued during the previous day. Between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. on September 23, air defense units destroyed another 35 Ukrainian UAVs. They were intercepted over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk and Oryol regions, Krasnodar Territory, the Republic of Bashkortostan and Crimea, as well as over the Black Sea.

In the Bryansk Region, nine drones were destroyed over the past 24 hours. The attacks were repelled by Russian Defense Ministry air defense units, mobile fire teams from the BARS-Bryansk brigade, personnel from the Bryansk Transport Police Department and regional Rosgvardia special units.

The Kursk Region came under repeated attacks during the same period. From 9:00 a.m. on September 23 to 9:00 a.m. on September 24, 61 UAVs of various types were shot down. Artillery was used 23 times against evacuated areas, while drones carrying explosive devices were employed in four more attacks. A 50-year-old man was wounded in Kursk.

The Belgorod Region was attacked 33 times over the past 24 hours. Strikes targeted the Belgorodsky, Borisovsky, Valuysky, Volokonovsky, Grayvoronsky, Krasnoyaruzhsky, Rakityansky and Shebekinsky districts.

One artillery attack and seven drops of explosive devices from drones were recorded. Air defense forces and other units involved in protecting the region shot down or suppressed 62 UAVs.
