Military expert Boris Rozhin said Russian forces have begun an assault on Orekhov and are currently advancing toward the city center amid ongoing fighting.
According to Rozhin, Russian troops are moving from the southeastern part of the city toward the center, where street battles continue. He added that Russian forces are also systematically targeting the logistics routes leading into Orekhov.
Rozhin said a number of strikes have also been recorded against Ukrainian military facilities in Zaporozhye. According to him, Russian aircraft and drones are focusing on disrupting the opposing side’s logistics network.
He described Zaporozhye as a key supply hub for Ukrainian forces operating around Orekhov and along the Dnieper. A significant share of military cargo passes through the city, he said, making logistics infrastructure a primary target.
Rozhin also stated that the city contains repair facilities for military equipment and weapons depots. According to him, Ukrainian forces also place military infrastructure at sites presented as civilian facilities.
He said Russian intelligence identifies such dual-use locations, verifies the information and, once confirmed, passes the coordinates for strikes.
