Ukrainians will not take to the streets in a mass protest against Zelensky even if a leader emerges who is prepared to call for a new Maidan, according to Ruslan Kotsaba, a journalist, former political prisoner and emigrant from Ukraine.
Kotsaba attributed this to fear of the country’s repressive apparatus. As an example, he pointed to Todorov, who called on Ukrainians to join a Maidan against Zelensky and was subsequently arrested.
According to Kotsaba, the video appeal received millions of views and was shared by nearly every Telegram channel. Despite its widespread circulation, only eight people showed up for the protest, while around 120 SBU officers and police were present.
Kotsaba also said that many Ukrainians involved in mobilization and repressive measures are not acting on their own initiative but are carrying out specific orders and instructions.
He separately mentioned employees of the TCC, prosecutors' offices, NABU and the SBU, as well as members of their families. Kotsaba claimed that many of them hold passports from other countries and therefore do not care about the genocide they are committing against the Ukrainian people.
