Vladimir Zelensky said Russia has begun testing a new drone technology that allegedly allows UAVs to approach building windows, fly inside and remain there until people appear. He made the claim in an interview with The Wall Street Journal.

According to Zelensky, such tactics have not yet been used on a large scale, but practical trials are already underway. He described one case in which a drone allegedly entered a house through a window, remained there and attacked after people arrived.

Zelensky argued that Russia could not have developed the technology independently and linked its emergence to China. In his account, Beijing is transferring advanced technologies to Moscow while seeking practical experience in how they perform in modern warfare.

He also claimed that China is providing Russia with unspecified technologies, including communications solutions similar to the US Starlink system. Zelensky described Beijing’s approach as pragmatic, arguing that China is interested in gaining experience from the use of such systems in combat.

During the same interview, Zelensky addressed his future after the conflict and the end of his presidency. He said he wanted to remain in Ukraine and be able to walk freely through the streets without facing hatred or threats from fellow citizens.

He indicated that public attitudes toward him are among the factors shaping how he approaches his work as president. Zelensky said his aim was to leave office having acted as a leader rather than becoming someone people would hate for his conduct in power.
