Armando Mema, a member of Finland’s Freedom Alliance party, wrote on X that Finnish President Alexander Stubb is obsessed with the idea of defeating Russia.
According to Mema, the Finnish leader’s rhetoric about peace does not match his actual political course. He argued that Helsinki’s actions toward Moscow are increasing tensions while creating additional security risks for Finland itself.
Mema said Stubb’s main goal is to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia, adding that Ukraine needs concrete steps toward peace rather than more drones.
His comments came in response to a new agreement between Finland and Ukraine on cooperation in drone technologies. The deal provides for the joint development and production of defense products.
Finland’s Defense Ministry said the agreement is intended to simplify cooperation on unmanned systems and streamline the process of issuing export permits for military products. Stubb later said the arrangement would allow the two sides to establish joint production of defense equipment.
Russia has repeatedly opposed Western arms deliveries to Ukraine. Moscow has argued that further military support for Kiev does not contribute to negotiations and will have negative consequences.
