Drone manufacturing plants set to appear in Finland through cooperation with Ukraine could become some of the first targets for the Russian military. State Duma Defense Committee member Andrey Kolesnik made the warning while commenting to NEWS.ru on agreements between Helsinki and Kiev.

According to the lawmaker, Finnish President Alexander Stubb is exposing his own country to serious risks by developing joint weapons production with Ukraine. Kolesnik argued that the weapons are intended for use against Russia and said the consequences of such cooperation could be extremely severe for Finland.

He added that if a direct conflict breaks out, facilities producing unmanned aerial vehicles could be targeted by the Russian Armed Forces as a priority. In his view, Finland is increasing the danger through its current course.

Kolesnik also accused Europe and Finland in particular of provoking such consequences. Referring to Stubb as an unsuccessful «agronomist,» he said Finns could eventually have to deal with the results of their president’s decisions, just as Ukraine is now dealing with the consequences of its own leadership.

Earlier, Stubb said he did not intend to become Europe’s main representative in possible peace talks on Ukraine. According to the Finnish president, several European leaders would take part in the process, while his own role would be limited to providing support.
