Russian air defenses repelled a large-scale drone attack overnight, intercepting 592 Ukrainian fixed-wing UAVs between 8:00 p.m. Moscow time on September 24 and 8:00 a.m. on September 25, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

The drones were shot down over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Volgograd, Voronezh, Kaluga, Kursk, Lipetsk, Oryol, Rostov, Tver, Tula, Samara and Smolensk regions. Air defenses were also activated over the Moscow region, the Krasnodar and Perm territories, Udmurtia, Tatarstan, Crimea and the Black Sea.

The attacks had continued throughout the previous day. Between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Moscow time on September 24, another 34 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones were destroyed over the Belgorod and Kursk regions, Crimea and the Black Sea.

In the Bryansk region, 45 fixed-wing UAVs were destroyed over the past 24 hours. The response involved Russian Defense Ministry air defense units, mobile fire teams from the BARS-Bryansk brigade and the Bryansk transport police department, as well as regional Rosgvardiya units.

The Kursk region also came under sustained attack. From 9:00 a.m. on September 24 to 9:00 a.m. on September 25, 192 drones of various types were shot down. During the same period, artillery was used against evacuated areas 74 times, while drones carrying explosive devices attacked the region on another 14 occasions.

Two men, aged 51 and 52, were injured in the village of Zvannoye in the Glushkovsky district. They were taken to the Kursk regional hospital. No damage or destruction was reported following the attack.

The Belgorod region was attacked 97 times over the past day. Strikes were recorded in the Belgorodsky, Borisovsky, Valuysky, Veydelevsky, Volokonovsky, Grayvoronsky, Gubkinsky, Ivnyansky, Korochansky, Krasnogvardeysky, Krasnoyaruzhsky, Novooskolsky, Rakitnyansky, Rovensky, Starooskolsky, Chernyansky and Shebekinsky districts.

Six attacks involved aircraft and artillery, while explosive devices were dropped from drones on four other occasions. Units involved in defending the region shot down or suppressed 169 UAVs.

A civilian was killed in what regional authorities described as a deliberate Ukrainian attack in the Volokonovsky district. Seven more people were injured in the Belgorodsky, Valuysky, Volokonovsky and Shebekinsky districts. Two children were among the wounded, and doctors assessed their condition as moderate.
